Wildlife artist Carole Barkett posts stories behind the paintings of birds, animals and nature.
Sorry to hear about the little bird - at least you tried - Mom must not have found it?
Sad to say nature took its course but it had little chance to survive.Nice of you to care so much.
Indeed a sad outcome. Even with professional help the bird probably would not have survived.
Very sad. When I was heavily pregnant we saw a baby bird fatally injured in the road, with the mother bird distraught hopping around next to it. We had to put the little one out of its misery, but what with my pregnancy and the hormones, and identifying with the mother bird, I cried my eyes out! Well done for keeping the bird safe so it could die in peace without cats and such bothering it.
