Salmon Run

In the fall, the Kokanee Salmon spawn in the creeks that run through the town and outlying areas.  These photos are of Coldstream Creek.
Forgive me for so many photos but it was awesome to see so I took lots of photos and tried to only post the best of them.
.

A favorite hiding spot

This is a small run compared to other creeks in the province but exciting anyway.

  5. Super photos, Carole, especially for those of us who've never seen anything like it! (There's a pub called 'The Salmon Leap' just a few miles outside Abergavenny but I didn't see any salmon in the river there at all!)

  9. I have watched the salmon spaw . It really is amazing. So are your photos. Each one. I love the one with the pink salmon.
And to think they go back to where they were born. Hundreds and hundreds of miles.
