The Owls have it

Sorry, it's advertising time :O(

Owls are the most popular bird image for the greeting cards that I create.
A few years ago,I was privileged to have a family of Great Horned Owls nest right across the street from me and considering how awesome it was, maybe everyone feels the same way.

This Saw Whet has been the most popular card of the owls or maybe it's the sarcastic verse as only children are happy to get older.

The Saw Whet Owl is only a little fellow, about 7 or 8 inches tall.  It sits perfectly still when approached so people think it's tame.

  2. I love owls. We had one on our birdbath last year but I've not seen it since then. These look fantastic. Love that mug

  3. I don't think the sharp beak and the look in his eyes would encourage me to venture too close to your little owl, Carole! But I agree it makes a super image for cards and gifts and I can see why it's so popular!

And thank you very much for the link to my store - I've been working my socks off to upload at least 50 new cards to my store each week this year so there's plenty of choice - not to mention the 400,000+ cards altogether on that site!

  4. Love it. I have never seen one for real- didn't even know about them. Interesting....and quite sweet looking:) I have one somewhere outside my window- hooting all during the early evening and early morning. I can't even get mad when it keeps me awake I love it so.

  5. We had a Sawhetsnest in a hollow beech snag in our neighborhood for two years. I even got to see one of the little ones. I don't know if there was another.

  8. We get a few down here for the winter. They like the cedars when they are small to roost in.I have been digging and planting to get ahead of my buying.

I wondered about large t-shirts with your kingfisher. I need a 3x mens for a gift. That swirled begonia rex is called Escargot in my last post, and a real catch.Contact me at :

  11. Love this little fellow. Thanks for your visits. Sorry I haven't been getting around to the blogs like I would like to do. Seems I'm busy all the time with things away from the computer. I do check out Facebook everyday.
