The trail runs along the edge of Turtle Mountain.
It was completely unplanned but I was fortunate to have my son and granddaughter come with me. You can tell they are waiting for me to take my photos and grab a quick rest as the hike was quite steep in some parts. I've been told this is an old volcanic crater and the rock formations were very interesting. It was early afternoon so I didn't see any interesting birds or animals or even insects but that's okay the company was good and the sunshine wonderful.
Wooo! I hate heights! But the place seems a nice place to unwind aside from the benefit of walking exercise. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful trail to walk on. Thanks for taking us along on your hike!
ReplyDeleteThe rock formations and plants would have kept me busy. Very nice area.My treehouse story was inspired from reading "Last Child" that you recommended here.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great place to go hiking and enjoy the outdooors! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat impressive scenery and unlike anything we have here! It is lovely to explore new walks and I love the name Turtle Mountain :)
ReplyDeleteOnce again you've amazed me with the similarities to out local countryside, Carole! Our Sugarloaf mountain is supposedly volcanic too. It looks much greener in the photo I posted on my blog this week than it really is; when you get near the top, it's rocky with caves, rather like your photo!
ReplyDeleteAnd did you notice the photo of the lake with pine trees I posted that was a bit similar to one you posted recently?
So many places to stop and take photos on this trail. It really is beuatiful. I would love to walk that. Thanks for taking me with you though your photography.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting trail to hike! I really enjoyed the pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments everyone it really is the sunshine in my day, I wished I'd had more time but we've had so few sunny days this fall.
ReplyDeleteI believe it looks similar to your part of the world, Judy as we have many areas named after places in Great Britain and we use to lived in an area called Aberdeen.
I enjoyed visiting Turtle Mountain! Looks fun!
ReplyDeletegreat place for a hike. Great looking country. I would be lost without wild country to hike and explore and the critters I find sure make it worthwhile. Thanks for taking us on your hike.
ReplyDeleteThanks also for the comments on my blog.
God bless,
